[Effective as of January 1, 2015]
YOUR PASSWORD IS THE FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE. Keep your password secret. Memorize it. Do not write it down. Change it occasionally. Don't worry about forgetting it; you can easily reset it.
WE'VE CREATED SECONDARY LINES OF DEFENSE. We made password formats strong requiring a minimum number and type of characters. We told web browsers not to remember your password, making it necessary to type them in full each time you login.
YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR INFORMATION. You have total control over your information at all times. You may correct, update, amend or delete any of your information at any time through your online account. We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we immediately delete all of your information including your entire document library. We don’t keep a copy of it. Please be aware of this before you delete your account because once deleted, it can’t be retrieved.
YOU HAVE A “PRIVACY” BUTTON. We added a "Privacy" button on your dashboard that toggles currency figures into “xxxx” and then back again. This means that you can show your information to others without letting them see your finances. It also means that the nosey person sitting next to you at the airport will be greatly disappointed.
Here is some additional information:
You will only receive service related email from us in order for us to manage and administer your account. You do not have an option to opt out of these emails, but we promise not to send you any marketing or promotional emails.
If you choose to use our referral service to tell your advisor about our website, we will ask you for your advisor’s name and email address. We will automatically send your advisor information inviting him or her to visit the website. Legal Aggregation Technologies stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this information and tracking the success of our referral program. Your advisor may contact us at email@example.com to request that we remove this information from our database. You may also provide personal information about other people, such as their name, date of birth and email address. Rest assured that we do not use their information and we protect it with the same level of security and encryption that we provide for your information.
We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is one hundred percent secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our website, you can visit our Security tab on the website or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Other than your email address and credit card information, we do not require that you give us any personal information. Any other information that you add to your account is encrypted and cannot be viewed by anyone.
We give very limited information to the following two companies that help us provide our service to you. These companies are authorized to use this limited information only as necessary to provide these services to us.
Payment Information. We use a certified credit card processor, Stripe.com, to process your monthly subscription fee. Stripe.com is specifically certified (“PCI Compliant”) to handle credit card information and to protect your information according to state and federal law. Stripe keeps your payment information. We do not keep your payment information.
Chat contact information: We use Olark.com to handle our live chat service. If you want to contact us after hours using the Chat feature, you are given the opportunity give us your contact information so that we can contact you later. This is completely voluntary and there are other ways you can reach us without giving your contact information.
Other information: We may be required by law to disclose certain information to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights. Certain disclosures may be required if Family Wealth is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets. You will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.
We use only two cookies on our website and each of these simply makes your experience easier. (“Cookies” are small text files that are stored on your computer for record-keeping purposes. We never link cookies to any personal information that you submit while on our website.)
Session ID cookie that expires when you close your browser. This cookie allows our program to remember you during your session so that you don’t have to keep telling us who you are each time you want to do something.
Persistent cookie that stays on your computer. This cookie remembers your username so that you don’t have to re-type it each time you login. The cookie does not keep your password. We require that you type your complete password each time you login. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” directory. If you do, then you will have to type in your username as well. If you reject cookies entirely, you will still be able to user our website, but it might not be quite as easy to use as it is with the cookies.
As is true of most websites, we gather certain generic information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the website, to track users’ movements around the website and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to your personal information.
If you have an unresolved privacy or data use concern that we have not addressed satisfactorily, you may contact Legal Aggregation Technologies at the address below.
